The Princess’s Cup Thailand 2018 is here! Avid equestrians have a lot to look forward to as Thailand’s most anticipated horse-riding event makes a comeback in Bangkok city. Running from November 20 through till November 25, The Princess’s Cup Thailand 2018 will take place at the Royal Stable Unit in Sanam Pao. Local talents can display their horse-riding prowess alongside friendly competitors from over 10 countries including Cambodia, Hong Kong, Malaysia, Taipei, Singapore, Australia, Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, New Zealand and Iran.

Established by Her Royal Highness Princess Sirivannavari Nariratana who chairs the Policy Committee, The Princess’s Cup Thailand aims to showcase the horse riding skills of participating nations. The event also aims to strengthen relations between equestrian clubs worldwide. For aspiring Thai equestrians, it is also a platform to practice their skills for global competitions, while promoting the sport locally. This year, Minister of Tourism and Sports Weerasak Kowsurat serves as Chairman of the Organising Committee, along with nine subcommittees.
What to expect at The Princess’s Cup Thailand 2018?
Participants will compete in five different categories, including dressage, jumping, eventing, best farrier and best groom. There will be an array of fun activities. Expect a flea market, an exhibition inspired by horses and a painting contest of acrylic horse models. Children in attendance can experience cleaning a stable model, horse feeding and pony rides.
The Princess’s Cup isn’t for horse lovers alone–dog lovers have ample reason to attend! There will be a marathon called ‘Run With Dogs’, and yes, dogs are most welcome to join. Divided into two categories of 3 km and 5km, the activity serves to promote good health and good hearts. All proceeds will go to providing treatment for sick horses.
