Joining the Diamond Punk from last year is the new Diamond Fury, a high jewellery secret watch that reinforces Audemars Piguet’s strength in ladies bejewelled timepieces. Like the Diamond Punk, the Diamond Fury is available in two iterations: A fully set diamond pavé version and another decorated in diamond and onyx. The full diamond version showcases a staggering 4,841 diamonds totalling 26ct. How’s that for a first impression?
Conquering the world
To commemorate Montblanc’s 110th anniversary since its founding year, the German brand launched a few commemorative timepieces. One of them is the 4810 Exotourbillon Slim 110 Years Edition, complete with the patented stop seconds mechanism and, for the first time, a micro-rotor to keep its proportions svelte and elegant. The top half of the dial shows a micro painting that reveals amazing depth of field thanks to the many different layers of oil painting – a feat that requires one week to produce. There are three variations to this model with each limited to either 36 pieces (North America and Europe editions) or 38 pieces (Asia edition).
The Pilot’s Collection, which is the focus for this year, remains undoubtedly one of IWC’s bestselling collections. Among several new launches is the Pilot’s Watch Timezoner Chronograph that features a patented function, allowing the wearer to set the time zone on a GMT wristwatch by rotating the watch’s bezel. But that’s not all, the GMT indicator is also linked to the day and night indicator, as well as the date, and the watch also takes into account daylight savings. Although Vogard, who sold the patent to IWC when the company went under, introduced the technology, it has since been combined with IWC’s very own SafeDrive rotating bezel (from its Aquatimer range) for an even more impactful timepiece. The result is a watch that is both functional and extremely easy to use. To top this off, the Timezoner also features an in-house made column-wheel chronograph.
Scaling new heights
As a celebration of the 20 years that have passed since it was founded, Parmigiani Fleurier introduces the Tonda Chronor Anniversaire. It features an in-house integrated split-seconds chronograph with a large-format date indicator. Founder and master watchmaker Michel Parmigiani has even chosen to present the entire movement in gold, to highlight its importance. The 5Hz movement ensures that timekeeping is accurate to 1/10th of a second, while two column wheels (one for the chronograph and one for the split-seconds) and a vertical clutch ensures that the chronograph functions smoothly. The watch is fitted with grand feu enamel dials and is available in two iterations: In white or rose gold.
