As Bank of Singapore CEO, Renato de Guzman heads a leading regional private banking institution with $40 billion in assets. He is seen as having been instrumental in growing the private banking business in Asia in his three and a half decades in the industry, and is deemed among the most influential in his field today. According to Alpha magazine, De Guzman is also among the 25 most influential in shaping the region's financial markets in the coming decade. Before taking over as CEO of the OCBC subsidiary in February 2010, De Guzman served as Country Manager for ING Barings in Manila (1990 to 2000) and then as CEO of ING Private Banking Asia. Under De Guzman's leadership, Bank of Singapore intends to double its assets under management to $80 billion by 2016. In 2013, the bank added another industry accolade to its growing collection: it was awarded Outstanding Private Bank — Asia Pacific 2013 at the Private Banker International Global Wealth Awards.
