Iain Tan

This Associate Consultant in the Department of Medical Oncology at the National Cancer Centre Singapore (NCCS) has a specific research interest in stomach cancer — the second leading cause of cancer deaths worldwide.

In 2010, Tan won the prestigious Young Investigator award from the American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) for his research on personalised medicine for the treatment of stomach cancer. The 34-year-old hopes that his research efforts will open the doors to doctors selecting drugs which are best suited for each individual patient. On top of his award-winning research, Tan also strives to improve NCCS's quality of care for current and future generations. He hopes to do this through technological advances in cancer research that will provide patients with cost-effective and focused solutions.
