The group's move into Japan follows its entry into markets including Taiwan, South Korea, China and India. For the first quarter of 2013, Serial System reported a 10 percent rise in net profit to US$1.6 million and 19 percent rise in revenue to $171.6 million. It gained from revenue growth in Greater China (up 11 percent to $88.6 million), Taiwan (up 20 percent to $13.0 million) and India (up 144 percent to $4.4 million). Serial has consistently outperformed the Asia Pacific semiconductor industry in terms of revenue over the past five years, with a CAGR of 17 percent versus the industry's seven percent.
