Meet Oscar de la Renta's New Creative Directors

After the swift departure of Peter Copping in July, Oscar de la Renta has now confirmed Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia as its new Creative Directors.

After departing from the luxury fashion house in 2014, Laura Kim and Fernando Garcia will be returning to Oscar de la Renta as its new Creative Directors.

In a statement released earlier this week, Chief Executive Officer of Oscar de la Renta Alex Bolen commented: "For many years, Laura and Fernando worked here directing our design teams. Oscar respected their talent, and their work with him brought tremendous critical acclaim and success to the company."

Both Kim and Garcia have worked at Oscar de la Renta for a combined 18 years before leaving the fashion house to establish their own brand, Monse. The incredible success of their bold and feminine label has created a massive following of celebrities, including Sarah Jessica Parker and Margot Robbie.

The duo will continue to design for Monse as well as Oscar de la Renta, with Bolen suggesting in his statement of a joint partnership between the two fashion labels.

However Kim and Garcia's return may not be news to the fashion world as speculation has been circulating since Peter Copping's sudden departure from Oscar de la Renta in July. Although there have been many leadership changes in the fashion world in recent months, Copping's exit is the most surprising of all with only two years under his belt at the label.

Kim and Garcia's first collection will debut next February for the Fall/Winter 2017 line, while an in-house team has designed the Spring/Summer 2017 Show scheduled for September 17.
