Pepe Moncayo, Beppe De Vito win at GastroMonth

CUT by Wolfgang Puck, Boo Jing Heng of Tess Bar & Kitchen, Daisuke Kawai of La Terre also honoured during Circle of Excellence Awards gala dinner and ceremony.

The inaugural edition of GastroMonth has handed BAM!‘s Executive Chef, Pepe Moncayo, the Innovative and Bold Chef award and ilLido Group‘s Beppe De Vito the Innovative and Bold Restaurateur award, both of which concluded a two-week-long selection process led by the judging panel comprising veteran chefs Christophe Megel, Edmund Toh, Otto Weibel and Peter Tsang.

During the Circle of Excellence Awards gala dinner and ceremony on November 4 at Shangri-La Hotel, Singapore, other noted names in the local F&B scene were honoured with the Favourite Restaurant Team (CUT by Wolfgang Puck), Favourite Restaurant Manager (Paul Joseph at CUT by Wolfgang Puck), Favourite Bartender (Boo Jing Heng of Tess Bar & Kitchen), Favourite Sommelier (Daisuke Kawai of La Terre), and Favourite Street Food Vendor (A Noodle Story at Amoy Street Food Centre) awards. These were decided upon following two months of online public voting, during which a total of 6,000 votes were cast.

Organised by Robert Parker Wine Advocate, the gala dinner and ceremony featured a seven-course menu prepared by Moncayo, who created the amuse bouche, and six noted regional or Singapore-based chefs: Vicky Cheng from VEA in Hong Kong, Min Kim from Mizumi at Wynn Palace Cotai Macau, Liu Guo Zhu from Golden Flower in Wynn Macau, Rishi Naleendra of Cheek by Jowl, Sun Kim of Meta Restaurant, and Mok Kit Keung of Shang Palace, Shangri-La Hotel Singapore.

Other spectacular dining events, workshops, wine masterclasses will take place throughout GastroMonth until November 26.
