This year’s Bib Gourmand Awards list has dropped: 38 restaurants and street food establishments made the cut, of which nine are making their debut.
The most high-profile new entrants are Teppei Yamashita’s Man Man Japanese Unagi Restaurant, and Tsuta, billed as the world’s first and only Michelin-starred ramen eatery in Japan, with its first overseas venture set up at Pacific Plaza. Ah Er Soup on Jalan Bukit Merah, Bar-Roque Grill on Tanjong Pagar Road, Liao Fan Hawker Chan on Smith Street, New Lucky Claypot Rice on Holland Drive, The Blue Ginger, Shirokane Tori-Tama, and Zai Shun Curry Fish Head complete the ennead.
Alaturka at Bussorah Street, Hjh Maimunah at Jalan Pisang, Fishball Story and Wedang at Golden Mile Food Centre, and JB Ah Meng Kitchen at Lorong 23 Geylang Road, all of which earned the Bib Gourmand distinction last year, have disappeared from this latest list.
The Bib Gourmand Awards honours restaurants and street food establishments with superb cuisine under the $45 maximum.
The 2017 Michelin Guide Singapore will be published on June 29.
