5 Christmas Feasts To Tuck Into

We all want some figgy pudding, so bring some right here.

1) Capella Singapore

A medley of festive indulgences awaits at the Capella Singapore’s annual Christmas Brunch on Christmas day, located at its Grand Ballroom, which will be transformed into a bustling marketplace to fit this year’s theme of Capella Christmas Market. As a roving band plays upbeat, festive tunes to set the mood, diners can expect to be treated to tantalising Christmas fare such as foie gras custard with gingerbread crouton and port wine, traditional baked Christmas turkey stuffed with quince stuffing and natural jus, along with the hotel’s signature desserts including matcha green tea profiteroles and Bordeaux canelé.

2)    Me@OUE

On Christmas Eve, savour the festive renditions of three cuisines — French, Japanese and Chinese — under one roof at Me@OUE. While offering sweeping views of the city from its prime rooftop location, the restaurant has placed festive touches to its menu by fusing traditional Christmas ingredients with some of its finest dishes. These include the Almond Sliver Lobster, a Chinese appetiser that comprises sweet potato and lobster topped with a dollop of fish roe; and the Baked Turkey Wellington, a French main course that snugly wraps tender turkey in golden glazed puff pastry. To end your meal on a sweet note, the restaurant offers a sinful adaption of the Christmas log cake, Christmas bûche, featuring white chocolate magic with a sweet acidic drizzle of passion fruit.

3)    Saint Pierre

It has been almost a year since Saint Pierre made a full return to its European fine dining roots at its new home at One Fullerton. Seating only 30 guests for an intimate dining experience, the European restaurant will serve up festive corporate lunch and dinner menus, featuring premium cuts such as venison and capon, as a prelude to the extravagant Christmas Eve dinner menu. Only available for that one evening, owner and chef Emmanuel Stroobant’s lavish six-course dinner includes Bresse French chicken albufera with black winter truffle potato croquette and glazed organic root vegetables, as well as the roasted pigeon royal d’anjou with foie gras and truffle mousse.

4)    The White Rabbit

Amidst the lush greenery of Dempsey stands the restored 1930s chapel of The White Rabbit, which beckons with its comforting European fare now in festive variations. Aside from its ongoing holiday lunch menus of succulent quail served with a side of braised chestnuts, and Challans duck breast glazed in lavender-infused honey, the dining establishment also offers its Christmas Eve dinner menu and Christmas Day brunch buffet to keep you happily stuffed till the New Year. While the former comprises six dishes, featuring the eucalyptus smoked ocean trout and the sweet Mont Blanc tart filled with chocolate Chantilly cream, the latter boasts an extensive array of festive favourites, which includes a seafood bar and a carving station of traditional meats such as the honey glazed ham.

5)    Caffé B

Begin the festive merriment by tucking into the lavish spread of festive delights at Caffé B, known for its finest Italian cuisines that are punctuated with artful Japanese flavours. The restaurant offers diners the option to feast on its three-course Christmas bar menu or indulge in its extensive six-course Christmas menu. The former entices with culinary Christmas creations such as its roasted young tom turkey breast and roasted striploin of beef, served with a side of mixed vegetables, before sweetening the deal with its decadent vanilla gelato cassata, a hazel sponge cake topped with brandy-infused vanilla gelato. Not straying from the festivities, the latter displays the seamless blend of Italian and Japanese flavours through the Sakura denbu risotto, a risotto dish that is wrapped in crisp seaweed before being garnished with sautéed onions, Sakura Mirin and Bonito flakes, followed by poached lemon sole and true cream, and the duo of lamb loin.
