Bid farewell to 2018 with these New Year’s Eve feasts

End the year on a sumptuous note with these festive meals.

As famed food writer M.F.K. Fisher once said, “first we eat, then we do everything else.” We couldn’t agree more, so here’s a quick eat list to usher in the new year on a full stomach, from waterfront-facing dining halls to restaurants in the sky.

Zafferano's New Year's Eve Gala Dinner

Get dressed in your finest threads for Zafferano‘s dinner gala. The feast is a sumptuous six-course spread that begins with Astrakhan Beluga caviar with egg and cream, and ravioli stuffed with ‘stracciatella’ cheese, sea urchin and coffee,. It then peaks to a main act of wagyu beef cheek served with Porcini mushrooms, hazelnut and truffle.

Before you traipse to the terrace lounge for the light show with your complimentary glass of bubbly, satiate your sweet tooth with dessert comprising black pepper meringue, mascarpone cheese scented with tangerine and almond brittle ice cream.

End the year at Singapore’s highest restaurant. Stellar‘s progressive riff on Australian cuisine puts texture, purity of flavour and ingredient quality first, thanks to executive chef Christopher Millar.

The stunning views are an equal match. For New Year’s Eve, the restaurant offers two seatings, with both featuring mud crab ravioli, caramelised foie gras, and tajima wagyu flank and the second offering Mayura wagyu oyster blade as its highlight.

Monti

There’s plenty to love at Monti, but a killer view with a hearty Italian menu bolstered by fresh produce are hard to beat. Cuisine here nails the soul of Italy’s diverse food produce, with handmade pasta, unique antipasta and fresh seafood. Despite its 108-seater size, the setting is still intimate thanks to its unhindered view of the Marina Bay waterfront and its intimate ambience.

Two seatings are available. The second one ups the bar with courses such as pan-seared marinated white cod, charcoal-grilled full blood mayura tiri tiri and lobster ravioli.
