Find Out Who Made the 2018 List of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants

Gaggan clinches the top spot for the fourth year in a row, with Singapore’s best ranked restaurant, Odette, coming in fifth.

The winners for the sixth edition of Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Awards were announced on March 27 at the Wynn Palace in Macao.

Bangkok’s Gaggan was named the best restaurant in Asia for the fourth consecutive year. In Singapore, Odette claimed the title of the country’s best restaurant at no. 5 on the list, alongside six other compatriots: Burnt Ends (no. 12), Waku Ghin (no. 23), Les Amis (no. 29), Corner House (no. 36) and Jaan (no. 44). Rounding up the list of Singaporean winners at no. 50 is first-time entrant Whitegrass.

Other awards announced on the night included The Diners Club Lifetime Achievement Award – which went to André Chiang, formerly of Singapore’s Restaurant André – and the Art of Hospitality award, won by Ultraviolet by Paul Pairet for its bespoke, multi-sensory dining experience.

The final list of the top 50 restaurants was determined by the Asia’s 50 Best Restaurants Academy, a coalition of over 300 notable figures in Asia’s restaurant industry, including food writers, critics, chefs, and other gastronomers.
