From sneakers to silk bomber jackets, that barely-there shade of dusty rose is quickly becoming the colour du jour and stealthily worming its way into wardrobes everywhere. Now, this pinkish hue has found its way onto wrists as well.
Case in point: This new addition to Vacheron Constantin’s Overseas collection. The Overseas small model presents a rosy beige lacquered dial that comes with a sunburst satin-finished base. The mien of this new steel reference also showcases a velvet-finished minute track. Fitted with the manufacture calibre 5300, the piece packs a driving central hour and minute hand, as well as a small seconds counter at the nine o’clock position. Completing its look is either a hand-stitched Mississippiensis alligator leather strap or rubber strap in this same rosy beige shade. A stainless steel bracelet is, of course, also available. That said, pink obviously isn’t for everyone — so this model is offered in a blue colour scheme as well.
Apart from these new steel editions, Vacheron Constantin has also released models in steel and 5N pink gold. Among them is this pictured piece, which is equipped with the self-winding calibre 5200 that has a column wheel that coordinates the chronograph start, stop and zero-reset functions. It is also fitted with twin barrels that afford it over 50 hours of reserve time.
A more minimalist version of the bi-material Overseas timepiece has also been introduced as part of the series, sporting either a small seconds counter or date window on its translucent, silver-toned, lacquered dial. A variant with 84 round-cut diamonds set on its bezel is available as well.
