Here are some things you can expect at the highly anticipated Monaco Yacht Show 2018, happening from September 26-29:

Visitor count and exhibition space size

On average, around 30,000 visitors from around the globe converge on the Cote D’Azur hotspot for this annual event. This year, the show will host 580 exhibitors and 120 superyachts within roughly 9,000 sq m of exhibition space.

New layout

The main location undergoing a restructure by the Principality of Monaco is Quai des Etats-Unis. This quay, which saw a variety of other yachting-related companies in the past, will now be dedicated to naval architects, shipyards and brokers right next to their yachts on display in the water.

Average yacht lengths and average age

The Monaco Yacht Show has a longstanding rep for showcasing great quality superyachts each year that average close to 50m in size overall. About 60 of the yachts exhibited are less than two years old, according to Gaëlle Tallarida, general manager of the Monaco Yacht Show.

The largest of them all?

The 90m Oceanco superyacht they’ve christened Dar (formerly known as Shark). Built in Netherlands at the Alblasserdam shipyard, she was recently delivered to her owner but will make her way to the Show for display only. According to Oceanco, Dar will not be available for public viewings. Viewings can be arranged for potential clients who express an interest in purchasing the megayacht model.

Bigger and better Tenders & Toys zone

The brand-new exhibition area, launched just last year, is devoted entirely to yacht tenders and the trendiest water toys on the market. This year, the display will occupy a bigger space as it takes on three times more exhibitors, where yacht owners and future clients will be able to choose their tenders from among a variety of products.
