4 chic introductions from Meridiani

It’s time to dress up your home with these covetable pieces from the Shine collection.

Like with our outfits, sometimes all it takes is a statement jewel to elevate the decor of a room. Distinguished by gleaming metallic accents, the Shine collection from premium Italian furniture-maker Meridiani does just that.

Under the direction of the brand’s art director Andrea Parisio, this third chapter from the Meridiani Editions range is a series of timelessly stylish storage units, small tables and consoles. Finished in precious lacquers, bronzed mirrors, marbles and woods, each piece is bold in form and materiality — in turn, accentuating (even defining) the character and ambience of the room it adorns.

Here’s a look at the four must-haves.

1. Ludwig cabinet and Ludwig Diamond cabinet

With their bronzed brass and mirrored finishing, these cabinets are the proverbial jewel in the crown. Both hexagonal in shape and crafted in wood, the former pairs lacquered cabinet panes with bronzed mirror, while the latter is as swank as its name suggests with an all-round bevelled bronzed mirror finish and matte elephant lacquer.

2. Sebastian bookcase

Again flaunting a hexagonal shape, this is one bookshelf that almost certainly looks like it belongs to the glitterati. With a metal frame (in bronzed brass or matt black finishing) paired with lacquered shelves (available in a myriad of colours), it offers a contemporised take on Art Deco-era appeal. If you’re looking for a chic home for your page-turners and objets d’art, look no further.

3. Cole console

Timeless and implausibly versatile, this console is the universal 0+ of furniture pieces — it can accentuate or compliment virtually any space, regardless of stylistic theme from contemporary to even oriental. Its luxe metal base comes in either a bronze brass or matte black finish, while the table top comes in striking marble the likes of calacatta, carrara gioia, emperador, grey stone and marquinia. For an informal or playful vibe, opt for coloured veneered tops in matte or glossy lacquer.

4. Cecile small armchair

Ask any designer and they’ll say getting the proportions of a chair right is notoriously difficult. But Andrea Parisio was clearly perceptive with the Cecile — its proportions are as pleasing to the eye as it is cushy. Completely inviting, it’s crafted from oak, has a plush moulded polyurethane foam seat and comes upholstered in a variety of colours.
