Prestige Petite: Hans Azlan (5of5)

Rounding off this five-part Society Kids series, the suave 15-year-old shares little tidbits of his dreams.

Exuding a quiet confidence, the son of management executive Azlan Shafie and doctoral candidate Nadia Marican loves to keep active by engaging in sports such as football. When off the pitch, he explores his artistic talent by sketching images of his family members as well as celebrities.

What do you want to be when you grow up?

I’d like to work with computers. Perhaps a software engineer.

If you could have one superpower, what would it be and why?

Teleportation, so I can travel anywhere and anytime for free.

Which three words describe you best?

Kind, weird and funny.

If you could be anyone in the world for one day, who would you be and why?

I’d be Ellen DeGeneres because she gets to meet all these famous and inspiring people. I also like that she’s always positive and energetic all the time. I’d like to see what life is like in her shoes for a day.

If you could time-travel, where would you go?

I would time-travel to the 2000s and re-live my childhood.

Name us one thing that scares you.

Being stranded in the middle of the ocean alone, without any type of boat.

What makes you happy?

When I’m successful at something — to come first place in a race or score high marks in a test.

Will you get married? If yes, do you already know to whom?

One day, yes, I don’t know to who though (or do I?).

What’s the toughest thing about being a kid?

Thinking you know what life has to offer but realising that it’s not as simple as the world can be a strange place.

What are the coolest things about your mum and dad?

There are many cool things about them but the coolest thing about my parents is that they are both understanding and they always know what to say and when to say it.
