As part of its runway-to-retail evolution, Burberry invites you to watch the runway show live from London on Tuesday, September 20, at 2:30am (Singapore time) and shop the new collection right after.
That’s right — comprising over 250 pieces, all 83 men’s and women’s looks from the September collection will be available for purchase online, as well as at Burberry’s stores in over 100 countries, as soon as they have been previewed on the runway. This marks the first time the brand combines both menswear and womenswear collections. “The changes we are making will allow us to build a closer connection between the experience that we create with our runway shows and the moment when people can physically explore the collections for themselves. Our shows have been evolving to close this gap for some time. From live-streaming, to ordering straight from the runway, to live social media campaigns, this is the latest step in a creative process that will continue to evolve,” explains Christopher Bailey, Burberry chief creative and chief executive officer.
The show will be streamed live on Burberry.com from Makers House, the new home of the brand’s runway show and where an exhibition and open series of activities will celebrate the craft and inspiration behind the seasonless September collection for one week. Visitors will also get to view the runway display of the collection, watch demonstrations in artisanal crafts such as sand casting, traditional lacquer painting and patchworking, as well as enjoy daily short theatrical readings on Virginia Woolf’s novel Orlando, which is one of the central themes behind the new collection.
And, for the first time, you can also catch the runway show on Facebook Live, besides YouTube, WeChat and partner sites globally.
