Located at ION Orchard Level 1 Atrium, the Prada Nylon Veda Pop-up takes over the Miu Lady installation, which has been wowing local fans with a super-sized iteration that revealed the making-of secrets of the bejewelled buckled bag.
Now, the space will be dedicated to Prada’s signature tessuto vela, better known as the ultra-thin nylon fabric those 90s-It backpacks were made out of. Consider the pop-up a knowing wink at the resurging popularity of Prada’s iconic nylon backpacks, hailed as “the greatest travel It Bag of all time” by Vogue. First released in 1984, the legendary fashion hit’s utilitarian chic led many to ditch their flashier status symbols.
