Like fine wine, intimate dinners organised by the International Wine and Food Society of Singapore only get better each year. With 35 members in attendance, this year’s celebrated Singapore’s 49th birthday at the Four Seasons Hotel. Attendees kick-started the evening with the singing of the national anthem before tucking into an amazing dinner paired with wines, such as Chateau Cos d’Estournel 1996 and Sassicaia 1983. As with previous years, the get-together also included a charity wine auction that pitted member against member to raise $14,600 (which matched dollar for dollar by the government, brought the total donated sum to $29,200). Proceeds from the evening went to Food From the Heart, a non-profit organisation against food wastage in Singapore.
