The chairman of Poh Tiong Choon Group celebrated his birthday with an evening gala and concert.

Poh Tiong Choon Group chairman and CEO Poh Choon Ann held an evening gala and concert at Sands Grand Ballroom, Marina Bay Sands, to celebrate his 80th birthday and the 66th anniversary of his company. The 1,200 guests were treated to a lavish five-course dinner, comprising Buddha Jump Over the Wall with bird’s nest, baked cod in teriyaki sauce and salted caramel snowskin mooncake and more. Taiwanese singer–actress Judy Ongg, a close family friend, serenaded guests with her classic tunes including “Seagull,” which she sang with Poh, who is also a composer, conductor and producer. He acted as guest conductor when members of the Singapore Chinese Orchestra and the Singapore Musicians Society Orchestra performed songs he had penned, while other musical talents in the Poh family took turns delighting the patriarch with performances.
