Nana Au-Chua’s Chinese New Year lunch

To get into the Lunar New Year spirit, an early reunion lunch was hosted just for friends.

Keeping to her annual tradition, the always gracious Nana Au-Chua hosted an early reunion lunch for more than 100 of her girl friends. This year, it was held at contemporary Chinese restaurant Empress, which is located at the Asian Civilisations Museum. When guests arrived, they were greeted by the sight of plush rooster toys — party favours embossed with the Chinese character for “lucky” — which adorned each table setting. Apart from the boisterous tossing of Yu Sheng, the programme was left free and easy so that it could be a casual catch-up among good friends.
