4 Things at the Luxglove Classic Car Weekend

This weekend event is definitely for the ones with an undying love for art, design and of course, cars.

Being the first of its kind in Singapore (and hopefully not its only time), automobile enthusiasts can anticipate a car show that isn’t like any other they have seen so far. Held at the Asiatique Collections at Dempsey from September 24-25, the Luxglove Classic Car Weekend event aims to bring together like-minded people with its enthralling collection of classic and rare cars, and also other collectibles.

Here’s what to expect at the show this weekend.

1) An extensive array of high-performance and luxurious cars

The showcase will feature 22 classic and rare cars from the likes of Ferrari, Porsche, Lamborghini and Jaguar. Of which, a 1969 Ferrari 250 GTE — only 954 units were produced — will be up for sale, alongside with other exquisite vintage cars such as the 1959 Porsche 356A, 1978 BMW M1 and also a rare Lamborghini Diablo. Look out for a live session by Zymol Royale as he demonstrates detailing techniques such as paint correction, chrome polishing and leather feeding on a 1972 Ferrari 246GT Dino.

2) Expert opinions

Serving as an inspiration to collectors and those who are just starting out, panel talks at the event by industry experts will give insights into the realm of collecting classic cars and other collectibles, including vintage watches and rare whiskies. Delivered in a intimate and conversational format, a panelist of industry experts will impart words of wisdom that span from the mechanics of collection, to growing the hobby into an invest. Speakers include Nicholas Biebuyck of Christie’s Hong Kong, Oliviero Bottinelli of Audemars Piguet and Michael Tay of The Hour Glass.

3) Also a soiree of pre-owned collectibles

A carefully curated selection of pre-owned items, including design objects, furniture, watches and rare whiskies will be available for purchase at special prices during the weekend. Guests are also encouraged to bring down pre-owned timepieces on Sunday, September 25, for free valuation services provided by Christie’s Hong Kong’s Senior Watch Specialist Nicholas Biebuyck. A complimentary photography service will also be provided for guests wishing to list their timepieces on Luxglove.

4) Fancy a glass of whisky?

A whisky-tasting session will be held by whisky expert Mike Soldner of B28 on September 24, which will feature an impressive portfolio of single cask Scotch whiskies at a dedicated whisky lounge — great for guests who are keen to appreciate, enjoy and invest in the tipple. Food trucks, including The Traveling C.O.W, Coffee Bandits and Popaganda, will also be set up to serve gourmet food and drinks.

For entry to the two-day event, guests are required to download the Luxglove app available on Google Play and Apple App Store.
