A new drive by Porsche Singapore

With Porsche rolling out packages for its beloved 911, Macan and Cayenne, purchase decisions are now even more effortless.

Who doesn’t love being spoilt for choice? We do, for sure. And judging from Porsche’s two newest offerings, the German automaker recognises the attraction too. Which is why it has chosen to pamper customers with offers that’ll make driving dreams come true: Premium Option Packages at no extra cost; or an irresistible 1.99 percent Porsche Financial Services (PFS) financing rate.

But first, let’s get this straight. Owning a Porsche isn’t all about power and performance — it’s an emotional experience. This is why the marque has always encouraged buyers to consider their every want and desire when buying a car through Porsche Exclusive. The wide range of personalisation options available means you can even choose to have your interiors match the leather strap of your favourite timepiece, or detailing in your favourite colours. In other words, it’s a Porsche with your signature on it.

The Premium Option Packages takes personalisation even further. Only available to a limited number of buyers of its iconic 911, and Macan and Cayenne SUV models, the packages range from add-ons, such as tinted LED taillights, to a Sports Exhaust System (and its gloriously sonorous soundtrack), both of which are available across all three models.

Don’t get us wrong though. We’re not saying the base-version Porsches need extra swag to elicit road envy. Indeed, they don’t. On its own, the well-loved 911 Carrera is a marvellous drive, producing a maximum output of 370 horses and completing the 100km dash in just 4.4 seconds (4.2 seconds with the Sport Chrono Package). Crossover model, Cayenne, and its more compact sibling, Macan, are no slouches either. The former is well-equipped to deliver 300hp with its 3.6-litre engine, while the Macan’s two-litre PDK engine outputs 252hp. No surprise then that these two models have been the marque’s bestsellers in recent years.

That said, who wouldn’t want to elevate their ride a notch or two, particularly at no extra cost? Available for the Cayenne, the Porsche Active Suspension Management (PASM) system, for instance, helps the car adjust the damping force on each wheel, allowing it to adapt to different road conditions and driving styles. Just pick from one of three modes — Comfort, Sport and Sport Plus — and you’ll be better equipped to take on both urban and off-road terrains.

Adrenaline junkies taking home a new Macan can also enjoy a souped-up ride with the range of sporty options available. Its Sport Chrono Package comprises an analogue and digital stopwatch with a black instrument dial, and a Sport Plus drive mode that tunes up throttle response and drive systems, while shaving 0.2 seconds in the century sprint.

Those intent on owning a 911 can add SportDesign exterior mirrors, which comes with a v-shaped base to give the car a more aerodynamic silhouette. Also available for the 911 is the Porsche Entry & Drive convenience feature. This allows drivers to unlock the door or boot without taking their key out of their pocket or bag. Simply grab the door handle or place your hand near the Porsche crest on the luggage compartment. The car will detect and validate the key’s encrypted code to approve access. It even allows the driver to start and switch off the engine effortlessly through the use of an electronic ignition switch.

Those opting for the standard model, sans add-ons, are instead eligible for the attractive 1.99 percent interest rate — which is higher than the market standard rate of 2.78 percent — offered under the Porsche Financial Services scheme (arranged through Hong Leong Finance Ltd and subjected to approval), which raises the car’s appeal.

With all the options working in the buyer’s favour, choosing a new Porsche can be a decision made truly from the heart and mind.
