The Beauty of Cyberspace

NET-A-PORTER expands its beauty range into over 20 Asia Pacific locales

We Asians haven’t been left behind in this digital consumerist age. Since introducing its quintessential beauty edit to our part of the world last month, NET-A-PORTER has made it as easy as a click of a button — or rather, several clicks depending on the vigour of your inner shopaholic — for us beauty fiends to have products couriered right to our front door.
Delivering cult classics from the likes of Natura Bissé, Oribe, Joya and Ilia, the online fashion retailer takes pride in stocking only the crème de la crème of beauty products. And in keeping with its top-notch selections, the online site has added two new lines: Kora Organics and Kevyn Aucoin.
Victoria’s Secret angel Miranda Kerr is creator, founder, and incidentally, the face of the new Kora Organics skincare brand. Rooting the vegan beauty line in the heart of all things beneficial and nourishing, Kora Organics bases its products on four key ingredients: Noni (a tropical Tahitian fruit), green tea, rosehip oil and chamomile. One of Kerr’s favourites — and ours too —is the Exfoliating Cream, a scrub made from bamboo and oat flour to gently remove dead skin cells. It is also infused with essential oils to lock in moisture and prevent the skin from drying out after exfoliation.
If timeless sophistication could be embodied in a makeup brand, it would manifest in cult label Kevyn Aucoin. The brainchild of the late maquillaje legend Kevyn Aucoin — who famously uttered: “It is far more important to help a woman feel beautiful no matter what and makeup is simply a tool for helping her discover herself” — the brand is known for its award-winning essentials such as The Celestial Powder in Candlelight and The Eye Pencil Primatif. Fans will also love the Set of Four Loose Shimmer Shadows (roll-ons formulated with vitamin E), which is now exclusive to NET-A-PORTER. But be warned: You’ll declare yourself an Aucoin evangelist after a single use.
The next time you spritz on Miranda Kerr’s Energizing Citrus Mist or give Kevyn Aucoin’s Blood Roses a swipe on your lips, remember that it’s a not a gift from the heavens but simply one from cyberspace.
