Executive Director and CEO
Pek Lian Guan helms one of Singapore's leading building construction and civil engineering contractors. The last year saw the forward-looking Executive Director and CEO of Tiong Seng Holdings unveil plans for the group's second and third precast plants in Asia. The $15.6 million plant in Iskandar, Johor and $10 million plant in Myanmar will reduce the group's dependence on labour by 30 percent and improve the quality and buildability of its construction projects. The two initiatives also launch the group's bid to become a regional precast player, with a network of plants across Asia. Tiong Seng's order book remains among the healthiest in the industry. In October, it stood at $1.1 billion, boosted by a $42.7 million contract for a seven-storey industrial building in One-North. It was also bestowed the Singapore Quality Award 2013 accorded by Spring Singapore, making it the first time a construction builder has won it. Pek, who spent his early years construction site hopping alongside his father, has more than 20 years of experience in the business under his belt.
