Samson Wong is the general manager at Asia Pacific Breweries (Singapore). Before taking the helm at the local operations, he spent four years as general manager at Shanghai's APB. With the takeover by Dutch beer giant Heineken completed, APB Singapore will continue to stay focus in developing the business in Singapore while keeping an eye on opportunities regionally. With a new canning line and brew tanks installed in 2013, it expanded the capacity of its brewery to meet higher demand forecast in the next 18 months. APB also announced that it will pledge $300,000 towards water education, research and outreach programmes in an effort to champion water conservation and water resources management over the next three years in partnership with the National University of Singapore and Van Kleef Centre. APB Singapore's commitment to social responsibility and sustainability is firmly on the radar. APB Singapore won two awards at this year's National Energy Efficiency Conference (NEEC) 2013 organised by the NEA. The brewery aims to reduce specific water use by 25 percent in 2020.
