The idea to start a swimwear label came when sailing enthusiast Lyn Rosmarin couldn’t find chic options that fit her Asian body type. One thing led to another and when she realised that full commitment was needed to establish a brand properly, she walked away from her high-flying finance job to build K.Blu from the ground up. Three years later, it remains the only home-grown luxury swimwear brand. It is retailing in the US and Indonesia, and offers active wear as well. A home collection will soon be added.
WHAT’S YOUR LEADERSHIP STYLE?
I love mentoring and I give a lot of responsibility to younger ones. Only by empowering them can they fly.
ANY ADVICE FOR ENTREPRENEURS?
Network. These days, it’s all about who you know. I only got to know this after I started my business. With research, it gave me all my know-how, but after that, it’s about who I know to get to places.
WHAT ARE YOUR GOALS?
My roadmap is for K.Blu to be a recognised brand for swimwear among the international community and hopefully become a pioneer in the lifestyle/resort category in Asia. There is also a small dream for me that women in Asia would embrace swimwear like the women in St Barts, Palm Beach or Miami.
