Songs for Dad

Good music for a good cause — that was the Centre for Fathering's (CFF) mission for its inaugural charity performance, Strings Concert: A Tribute to Fathers. Held in the presence of guest of honour Tan Chuan-Jin, the Acting Minister for Manpower, the event featured the T'ang Quartet and students from the Yong Siew Toh Conservatory of Music, who performed JS Bach's stately Brandenburg Concerto No 3 in G Major and Tomaso Albinoni's moving Adagio in G Minor, among others. Funds raised that evening go toward CFF programmes including the Reading with Dad initiative, which enables children of incarcerated fathers to visit them in prison and spend time reading with them.
