In May, society doyenne and businesswoman Dato' Dr Jannie Chan celebrated her birthday with a dinner gala drenched in gold. The dress code was, after all, “Gold & Black” and the ladies came dressed and gilded to the nines. The highlight performance of the night was entertainer Amy Bondi, who was a dead ringer for American soul singer Tina Turner. Naturally, she belted out some of Turner's most electrifying hits, including “Proud Mary” and “Simply The Best”. After the giant multi-tiered birthday cake was cut, Chan performed show dances across the dance floor, showing off a prowess that belied her years.
