Deep-sea Soirée

It may not have been held aboard a pleasure craft, but the Singapore Yacht Show Black Tie Gala Dinner could very well have been. Held instead at W Singapore — Sentosa Cove, 300 guests were invited to dine in the Grand Ballroom where its dreamy blue lighting and warm, golden tones of the table centrepieces, gave the distinct impression of dining out at sea. Over a four-course dinner prepared by three Michelin-starred Chef Bruno Ménard, guests also enjoyed a hoop dance performance and a fashion show by London jeweller David Morris. Silent and live auctions took place as well, with the latter culminating in an exciting finish that saw performance artist Michaël Raivard's Lee Kuan Yew painting sell for $42,000. (Raivard had earlier created the work live on-stage.) All auction proceeds went to Red Pencil, the yacht show's official charity for the year.
