Last week, we were invited to the third instalment of the Celebrate! Supper Club series, a collaborative effort between Tish Events and Sitka Eatinghouse + Winebar. Celebrate! is a series of specially curated dining experiences that aims to unite people and stir thought-provoking conversations over a mutual love of food, culture, cinema and music. The third series celebrated the colourful life of Andy Warhol whose unique aesthetic of merging fine art media such as drawing and photography with highly commercial mass-produced subjects such as Coca-Cola and Campbell Soup became one of his most iconic works.
Sitka Eatinghouse + Winebar was transformed into Andy Warhol’s notorious Factory, as silver foil, bold crepe florals and silver floating balloons accompanied by a Warhol-esque soundtrack that included The Velvet Underground and Patti Smith set the mood for the night. The gastronomy experience kicked off with an immersive four-course menu inspired by Warhol’s most iconic artworks – Campbell’s Soup, Flowers, Coca-Cola and Velvet Underground Album Cover Banana.
Secure your reservation at the next Celebrate! series slated in April and be prepared to journey through the mind of cinematic genius Wes Anderson. Log on to www.sitkarestaurant.com/sitka/reservation/ for more information.
