You’ve heard his music. Would you wear a watch designed by him?

Corum collaborates with Steve Aoki

Since the reintroduction of its Bubble collection at last year’s Baselworld exposition, Swiss watchmaker Corum has been making waves with special edition after special edition of the iconic watch. Among its more notable creations of late is the Corum Bubble Paiste — a product of the manufacture’s collaboration with the cymbal-maker that the timepiece is named for (Paiste is known for suppling its quality cymbals to some of the world’s biggest rock bands, including Kiss, Pink Floyd and AC/DC). Interestingly, encased behind the watch’s hallmark domed sapphire crystal is a dial that has been created to resemble a miniature cymbal.

Today, the watchmaker has announced yet another music-related collaboration — this time with producer-DJ extraordinaire Steve Aoki. If you’re a regular on the music and party circuit, this is a name you would definitely be familiar with. But for the uninitiated, the American musician is best known for working with high profile recording artists the likes of, Afrojack and Iggy Azalea on their musical tracks. He has also cut several albums of his own, including 2013’s Wonderland, which was nominated for a Grammy (for Best Dance/Electronica Album) in the same year. Aoki is also the founder of record label-cum-lifestyle company Dim Mak.

Though details on the Bubble timepiece that Aoki is designing together with the brand are unavailable at this point, the watch will reportedly be unveiled by the end of the summer season. “We’re giving Steve total creative freedom to develop his own interpretation of our iconic Bubble wristwatch,” says Corum’s CEO, Davide Traxler. “I’m excited to launch his electrifying vision of the Bubble.”

Now, this we can’t wait to see.
