Kate Hudson to Watch Hunger Stop with Michael Kors

The Hollywood star teams up with the brand for the third year to fight global hunger

This year, Michael Kors follows through with Watch Hunger Stop, the brand’s annual campaign to fight global hunger, alongside the actress, author, entrepreneur and humanitarian Kate Hudson.

Established in 2013, Watch Hung Stop has been raising funds and awareness to help achieve a world with Zero Hunger. Through the sale of special products by Michael Kors, the brand is able to assist its partner, the United Nations World Food Programme (WFP) in its school meals program.

Back in June, Hudson has visited schools in Cambodia, where the funds raised by Watch Hunger Stop enable WFP to feed children so they receive the nutrition they need to grow and to finish their education.

She returns again for the third year in supporting Watch Hunger Stop this year, alongside celebrated British artist Clym Evernden, who brings his gift for graphic communication to the goal of raising funds and awareness for WFP’s life-changing school meals program.

In anticipation of World Food Day on 16 October, Michael Kors will be dedicating the whole month of October to its campaign, with the launch of the special edition Michael Kors Access Sofie touchscreen smartwatch.

Featuring a thin and lightweight body of black-plated style with a gunmetal pavé top ring and pavé checkered bracelet, the smartwatch includes the latest iteration of the Michael Kors Access app, with added functionality including My Social that allows users to link to their Instagram or Facebook accounts directly on their smartwatch. A pre-loaded digital face designed for Watch Hunger Stop will be available only on this watch, with an additional function to set a personal post photo as a watch face.

The Watch Hunger Stop Sofie is compatible with both iOS® and Android™ phones, is powered by Android Wear™ 2.0, Google’s smartwatch platform, and boasts a Qualcomm® Snapdragon Wear™ 2100 processor. Android Wear 2.0 expands the smartwatch experience through customisable dials, user-friendly notifications and messaging, downloadable third-party apps, and help from Google Assistant.

Besides that, Watch Hunger Stop will also roll out a pair of special edition Lon sunglasses, Michael Kors’ bestselling aviators in bold cobalt blue, with flat, mirrored lenses that lend the classic silhouette a modern edge.

The Watch Hunger Stop items will be available exclusively in selected Michael Kors stores worldwide, and online from now till 31 March, 2018. For each purchase of these items, Michael Kors will donate USD25 to WFP, which equates to 100 meals, in hopes to achieve the 1,000,000 meals goal this year.
