Anybody, be it a woman, man or non-binary person, can play a part in helping to drive better outcomes for women. For International Women’s Day (IWD) 2017, Prestige Malaysia teamed up with TGV Cinemas, 20th Century Fox, Sothys and The Botanist to celebrate women’s achievements from all walks of life.
As this year’s theme for IWD is to be bold for change, a panel discussion related to women’s roles in society took place, in addition to the screening of Hidden Figures, a movie that celebrates the extraordinary achievements of three women who took ground-breaking actions and helped make NASA into a scientific world leader. Guest of honour Y.A.M Tengku Datin Paduka Zatashah Sultan Sharafuddin Idris Shah was the panellist for the thought-provoking dialogue. Her Royal Highness is involved in numerous activities that contribute to our society, including as the royal patron for Make-A-Wish-Malaysia.
Held at Indulge, TGV’s gourmet cinema, soft music welcomed the guests as they entered the lounge area. As they were waiting for the panel discussion to start, guests were served with rounds of Botanist Gin and Cointreau cocktails, followed by gorgeous trays of scrumptious canapes, all prepared by its private kitchen.
Once the panel was over, everyone was courteously ushered into the two exclusive cinema halls fitted with reclining chairs, comforter blankets and personalised call-waiter-service. The whole atmosphere truly delivered an intimate movie-screening experience which delighted even the most pampered guests who attended.
