Colour Me Pastel

The taste of elegant, floral cuvées from the house of Perrier-Jouët, delicately paired with authentic classical cuisine from the colonial era

Life is a series of experiences; which is why during an exclusive soirée at the charming Orchid Conservatory, The Majestic Hotel Kuala Lumpur, esteemed guests of Prestige Malaysia were invited to an indulgent yet educational afternoon of exquisite pairings between Perrier-Jouët and authentic classical cuisine from the colonial era.

The dining space was a botanical wonderland filled with waves of stunning pastel-coloured large-petaled blooms, which complemented impeccably with the French champagne maker’s source of inspiration – nature. Preprandial flutes of perfectly chilled champagne were served to the guests while they were exchanging conversations and admiring displays of Perrier-Jouët’s finest collections amidst the orchidscape. One such example would be the two limited editions of cocktail bags, designed by the London-based textile artist Claire Coles, for the Maison’s Grand Brut and Blason Rosé cuvées. The four-course lunch orchestrated by the culinary team from the Colonial Café was refreshing and vivacious, which received nods of approval from gourmands seated at the banquet table. Of course, the gastronomic experience was further heightened thanks to the Perrier-Jouët Grand Brut and Blason Rosé, which exemplified the unwavering floral and diamond-cut style distinguished to the Maison.

And throughout the luncheon, the continual clinking of champagne flutes along with lighthearted banters and laughter could be heard, a lucid indication of an afternoon well spent.
