The wedding of Sazahan Yassin and Kelly Roza was a breathtaking affair filled with love, laughter and tears of joy.

It was an intimate moment of nuptial bliss as close family members and friends of Sazahan Yassin and Kelly Roza congregated in Kuching, Sarawak to celebrate the couple’s love as they tied the knot in a beautiful akad nikah ceremony on November 8, 2015. Guests from Kuala Lumpur, Singapore and Australia flew in especially for the occasion to witness the memorable event. The wedding took place at Dewan Majma Tuanku Abdul Halim Mu’adzam Shah, which was decorated in beautiful white blooms of orchids and roses with a stunning ‘pelamin’ designed by ArD’Design to match.

The solemnisation was complete with a traditional ‘merenjis’ ceremony where the couple’s parents and elders were invited on stage to give their blessings. One of the afternoon’s highlight was a special performance from the uncle of the groom, Dato Saruji Johan who took over the stage with his band Rhythm of the Skeleton to perform a selection of classic ballads.

The bride wore two beautiful modern kurungs from Innai Red for the akad nikah and Manolo Blahniks Hangisi pumps as her something blue for the special day. Her elegant dress was complete with her mother’s jewellery from Jaipore Jewels as part of her something borrowed.

Staying true to her baba nyonya heritage, she opted to include traditional Peranakan influences such as antique ‘Bakul Siahs’ and bright weaved batik baskets as ‘hantaran’ from both sides. Guests also took home mini versions of the traditional baskets as a thank you gift from the couple.
