No introductions necessary, Beyoncé graces the cover of Vogue’s September issue. The star radiates from within with a ‘no makeup’ makeup look created by the ever-famous celebrity makeup artist, Sir John. Having worked with Beyoncé on some of her most iconic looks to date, Sir John gushes about the natural look being one of Beyoncé’s favourites.
“She’s all about being confident in your skin and owning your natural element. This look was all about redefining glamorous as a state of mind ,” he shares. The key behind mastering this look was to enhance Beyoncé’s natural brows (eyebrows to envy, might we add), skin and structure — as well as bringing out that inner glow.

To create the ‘no makeup’ makeup look, Sir John used products from Marc Jacobs Beauty’s recently-launched, limited Coconut Fantasy collection. With the right tools in hand, you can recreate the look in just three simple steps:
#1 Prep your skin
Sir John believes that you should “always apply foundation on wet, moisturised skin”. He adds, “It’s the best way to lock in your glow.” He uses the Marc Jacobs Beauty Under(Cover) Perfecting Coconut Face Primer which packs five types of coconut to nourish, illuminate and hydrate Beyoncé’s skin.
Beyoncé’s lit-from-within glow is the product of the Marc Jacobs Beauty Coconut Gel Highlighter applied to the basic highpoints of her face. “Always avoid shimmer on the front of the face. Apply it to your angles for sexiness,” he shares. “It’s all about a glowy contour. Dew drops are worth their weight in gold. It’s the one thing I have in my bag everywhere – I use it for concerts, for shoots, for tours – I use it religiously.”
#3 Set the look
Finally, Sir John sets her look with the Marc Jacobs Beauty Finish-Line Perfecting Coconut Setting Powder, which also contains five types of coconut and cocoa butter to give the look a soft-matte finish that lasts.
