Jaeger-LeCoultre Returns For The 21st Shanghai International Film Festival

This year marks the eighth year of the Swiss luxury watch manufacturer’s partnership with the Shanghai International Film Festival.

Held from 16 to 25 June, this year’s edition of the Shanghai International Film Festival was an especially momentous occasion for Jaeger-LeCoultre as it coincides with the 185th anniversary of the luxury Swiss watch manufacturer.

To commemorate this significant event, Jaeger-LeCoultre hosted an exclusive gala dinner at the Expo I-Pavilion during the official opening of the festival which was attended by various local and international celebrities from the glamorous world of cinema. In the spirit of promoting and preserving the art of filmmaking in the land of dragons and emperors, a special charity auction was also held during the gala dinner to raise much-needed funds for the restoration of beloved classic films from Chinese cinema.


The Pavilion also served as the venue for a themed exhibition where guests had the opportunity to immerse themselves in the universe of Jaeger-LeCoultre where they were among the first to in the world to experience the new Rendez-Vous Night & Day Tribute to Cinema, a feminine timepiece that pays homage to all things cinema.

Specially created for this unique anniversary, this elegant creation is limited to only 100 pieces and features a classic 34mm round case in rose gold set with sparkling diamonds on the bezel. Powered by an automatic movement, a closer inspection of the white dial reveals a day/night indicator in at six o’clock which replaces the traditional moon with the famous star symbol that has become synonymous with Hollywood.
