If it is your first visit, you will be delighted that The Point Restaurant & Bar is anything but stuffy. We loved how the space is filled with dark panels, mirrors and brass, offering a cosy, nostalgic air that prompted me to sit back and relax. The premise is further anchored by a plush wooden bar with a larger-than-life beverage collection, with tall leather bar stools, and gorgeous pendant lights that dip from the ceiling.
The latest menu, which was launched in conjunction with the restaurant’s second anniversary, is simple and does not open with an inspirational culinary quote or lofty message from the chef. Instead, it directly drew our attention to its wide selection of innovative dishes inspired by its signature style of local, Asian, European and Mediterranean flavours. Led by Head Chef Kua Jin Hao, who has a thorough background in French and Italian culinary, the kitchen showcased several creative touches to familiar local dishes such as Ayam Percik and Bak Kut Teh, while giving new takes on signature crowd favourites such as the Cold Angel Hair Pasta with Truffle and Avruga Caviar and the Hokkaido Scallops.
The Point Restaurant & Bar is a casual dining gem that aims to deliver the comforts of soul food right in the heart of our city-state. Aside from that, you are welcome to liven the experience at the bar with great cocktails, premium champagnes, wines and spirits with cigars to pair. The restaurant is open from Wednesday to Sunday for brunch (11.30am- 2.00pm) and Monday to Sunday for dinner (6.00pm-10.45pm) while the bar is open from 5.00pm till late daily.
