Housed in a classic 38.5mm round case with a smooth, polished bezel, the Swiss watchmaker Patek Philippe reintroduces the classical Ref. 5396 Annual Calendar with Breguet hour numerals and dauphine hands.
One of the original timepieces of the brand’s Annual Calendar watches, the Ref. 5396’s distinguished in-line apertures for the day and month, along with the moon phase that is displayed at six o’clock, shines even brighter thanks to its latest transformation. Also, the idea of pairing the timepiece with dauphine hands can be seen as a reminiscence to Patek Philippe’s watches of the late 20th century.
The movement remains the same as that of the present version of the Ref. 5396: inside is the 324 S QA LU 24H/303, a mechanical self-winding movement, which beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour with a power reserve of 35 to 45 hours, with a patented Spiromax balance spring made of Silinvar (a derivative of silicon which is extremely hard, light and anti-magnetic).
As an addition to the existing baton hour marker version of this model (namely the Ref. 5396G-011 and Ref. 5396R-011), the fresh offering is available in two variants: rose gold with a silvery opaline dial (Ref. 5396R-012) and in white gold with a charcoal grey dial, finished with sunburst brushing (Ref. 5396G-014).
