As CEO of the Kewelram Chanrai Group, Narain Girdhar Chanrai oversees businesses in the automotive, IT, textile, agriculture and waste recycling sectors. The group employs more than 5,000 people in 17 countries and has an annual turnover of US$1 billion. KCG and its CEO are also known for the many philanthropic initiatives in health care and education, backed by the family's philosophy to enhance and improve the lives of communities in the countries in which it operates. In 2013, the group was awarded the inaugural EY-Barclays Family Business Award of Excellence. Chanrai was also recognised with a Patron of the Arts award (Art Supporter) last year for his personal contribution to Singapore's arts and cultural scene.
