After 25 years in the legal profession, Indranee Rajah joined the Cabinet in November 2012 as Senior Minister of State for Law and Education last year. A seasoned Member of Parliament who was deputy speaker from 2006 to 2011, Rajah has also helmed several Government Parliamentary Committees, among them Defence and Foreign Affairs, and Home Affairs and Law. On the legal profession in Singapore, the former Drew & Napier lawyer believes that there is room for lawyers to grow on the international stage, not just in arbitration but also beyond. On education, she feels that students should be moulded into global citizens, in addition to getting good grades. Indranee has been recognised by Asia Pacific Legal 500 for her dispute resolution and international arbitration practice. She has been named a “leading Individual in the field of Dispute Resolution” in all its editions between 2006 and 2011.
