In January 2013, Ang Wee Gee took over as CEO of Keppel Land, the property arm of Keppel Corp and one of the key contributors to its profits. The unit continued to do well in the first year under his leadership, despite property cooling measures in Singapore and China. For the three months to September, it posted a 70 percent rise in net profit to $126.4 million with the completion of more projects in China. In the fourth quarter, it completed the sale of its 51-percent stake in Jakarta Garden City to joint-venture partner PT Modernland Realty for $290.5 million, yielding net proceeds of $186 million. Keppel Land was also recognised last year for its proactive approach to environmental protection and sustainability, and commitment to CSR. The unit was named Most Admired ASEAN Enterprise at the ASEAN Business Awards; and emerged winner in the services category at the Singapore Environmental Achievement Awards 2013.
