At the age of 10, Aaron Chin received his first computer from his father. That sparked his interest in technology and spurred him to establish a software development company specialising in infrastructure asset management systems. “My father was in the civil engineering and construction business but I graduated in banking and finance, so I knew nothing about engineering. I explored the idea of fusing my childhood passion in technology with sound engineering principles, and that’s how I founded my company 10 years ago,” says Aaron, who has proudly led his company to achieve the only MSC Malaysia Status technology company in Sabah.
The hallmark of his many achievements includes developing state-of-the-art software systems for the country’s vital infrastructure assets, such as the Second Penang Bridge. Working with influential clients, such as the Brunei and Singapore governments, has also given him the confidence and experience to bring his expertise back to Sabah and contribute to the Pan-Borneo Highway development. Not one to rest on his laurels, the dynamic entrepreneur has set his sights on venturing into property development and management as well as hospitality, with plans currently underway to create his very own brand of boutique hotels in Kota Kinabalu by next year.
