Cece Wynn hits Hong Kong's most exclusive clubs and bars for a night on the tiles with the girls
Nothing beats hanging with the girls on a Saturday night for cocktails and gossip – but the pressure’s on to look good, as, unlike our unobservant menfolk, your besties are bound to notice every detail of your make -up, from the shade of your nail polish to the cut of your diamonds.
One way to grab the girls’ attention is with some seriously beautiful bling, like US luxury jewellery brand Hearts On Fire, with Marcia Cross, Liv Tyler and Lauren Conrad among those stepping out in its traffic-stopping pieces. While all jewellery brands have diamonds among their repertoire, not many offer perfectly cut diamonds.
Hearts On Fire selects less than 0.1 per cent of the world's top quality rough diamonds which are hand-polished by master craftsmen and cut at 100x magnification – 10 times of the industry standard – to reveal their brilliance. Every diamond displays the perfect symmetrical pattern of eight arrows and eight hearts.
As I’d arranged our girly get-together, I was hell-bent on going all-out to impress – and what better way to accessorise my new pillarbox red designer dress than with the most exquisite sparkle, so I sashayed into Chow Tai Fook’s store (the brand is exclusively available in Hong Kong in Shatin and at Silvercord in Tsim Sha Tsui). For a fun feel, I picked out the Illa Cluster Pendant and Ila Diamond Ring – both of which are presented in white gold and feature star-shaped motifs – and the Atlantica Tri-Color Bracelet in white, yellow and rose gold.
Over one too many champagne cocktails, we giggled, gossiped and danced the night away – and by the end of the eve, each of my four besties had endlessly ooohed and aaahhed over my dreamy diamonds – even my new skyscraper heels couldn’t get a look-in! Now that’s what I call a result.
