In conjunction with the George Town Festival 2015, Prestige and Seven Terraces hosted an intimate dinner for selected guests at the renowned Kebaya restaurant. The esteemed guests who attended the event included festival directors, art connoisseurs, cultural advocates and regular patrons of the restaurant. It was a night filled with cultural exchange and ideas as the guests were entertained by traditional Chinese music during the cocktail session before proceeding inside the Kebaya restaurant to savour a four course degustation menu featuring classic Indo and Straits Chinese Nyonya dishes. Lillian Tong, Pinang Peranakan Mansion’s museum director made an appearance and was dressed in a century old damask silk baju panjang, songket sarong, gold embroidered shoes and filigree dokoh chains. Guests were invited to view the traditional costume up-close while Tong shared the history behind the attire. The night ended on a cheery note as they took home a copy of Tong’s Straits Chinese Gold Jewellery book and a Mercedes Benz bottle stopper.
