PRESTIGE LIFESTYLE ISSUE 2018

Decorate your abode with the most luxurious décor we have specially curated in our latest special issue.

A Letter from Our Editor-in-Chief/Publishers

There are essentially two kinds of a home designer: those who welcome client involvement and like to consult with them every step of the way, and those who want full creative control. Whichever kind you prefer, the key to success is: trust the process. Clients who have trouble making decisions or are unwilling to commit to choices they have hired their designers to make are courting disappointment or even disaster.

These points are made in various ways by the top professionals we interviewed for this issue of Prestige Lifestyle, not least the acclaimed Juan Pablo Molyneux, who has studios in New York and Paris. A committed classicist, he creates interiors that are rooted in history without being recreations. His work is bold, eclectic and witty. “I try to distill that which is expected and turn it into something unexpected,” he says. “I make interiors people want to belong to – forever.”

We also talk design with Anouska Hempel, Lady Weinberg, a film and television actress turned hotelier and interior designer with an unrivalled international reputation for architecture, interiors, landscapes and furniture. She has owned, designed and managed three boutique hotels (Blakes London, Blakes Amsterdam and The Hempel) that showcase her signature style and are produced with the highest attention to detail. Singapore’s Six Senses Duxton is among her latest hotel design projects.

Elsewhere in this issue, we meet Thomas Elliott, an architect who relocated from California to Indonesia in the early 1990s and has gone on to help Jakarta-based PAI develop a reputation for excellence in prestigious projects like Baccarat Residence in Shanghai and The Hermitage Hotel in Jakarta; and Yori Antar, who has won praise for his dedication to ethnic architecture, notably in Wae Rebo, East Nusa Tenggara, and has created the new gates and corridors of Gelora Bung Karno Stadium in Senayan for the upcoming Asian Games.

There is much more to explore and enjoy the latest issue of Prestige Lifestyle. Thank you for joining us in this celebration of some of the very best ideas in home design. Happy reading!
