Rihanna Designs for Chopard

Caroline Scheufele joins forces with Rihanna in designing two jewellery collections for Chopard

Chopard has long had a close tie with Hollywood, but rarely does the legendary Swiss watchmaker and jeweller entrust a personality to co-design a collection. In 2015, actress Marion Cotillard had the honour of designing Chopard’s first Green Carpet collection. Now it’s Rihanna’s turn to take on the role of Chopard’s jewellery designer.

The Grammy-winning singer designs a jewellery and a high jewellery collection, in collaboration with Chopard Co-President and Creative Director Caroline Scheufele, for an upcoming line “Rihanna Loves Chopard”.

Over the years, Rihanna has been spotted wearing Chopard at red carpets. Her most recent one was at the 59th Annual Grammy Awards’ red carpet earlier this year, where she wore floral chandelier earrings from the upcoming high jewellery collection.

“I have always been in love with Chopard’s exquisite jewelry, so to actually design collections with them is something I still can’t believe,” says Rihanna.  “It was a really incredible process and I learned so much! I can’t wait for everyone to see it.”

The jewellery collection

Necklace in 18ct rose ethical gold certified Fairmined and green ceramic

The contemporary collection sees Rihanna reimagines Chopard’s classic ice cube shape. The shape features a colour that the singer personally selected: jungle green. Crafted from 18ct rose ethical gold certified Fairmined, the nine-piece capsule collection will be available with icy polished or diamond set gold cubes.

Pieces will be available in June, but pre-orders are now opened via website and at Chopard boutiques.

The high jewellery collection

At the 59th Annual Grammy Awards this year, Rihanna wore Chopard earrings in 18ct white gold and titanium set with blue, pink and yellow sapphires, tsavorites, rubellites, green beryls, aquamarines, Paraiba tourmalines, rubies, amethysts, topazs, lazulites and diamonds.

The collection is inspired by the lush gardens of Rihanna’s hometown Barbados and the electricity of carnival. The high jewellery collection will debut in May, in conjunction with the 70th Cannes Festival. Chopard has been a partner of the prestigious film festival for 20 years.
