DestinAsian Media Group Gala: Best Dressed

The leading ladies who graced the red carpet at the party of the year

To celebrate the 15th anniversary of DestinAsian Media Group, Publisher Ronald Liem threw a huge party attended by the city’s well-loved society ladies, esteemed entrepreneurs, A-list celebrities and influential figures. The ladies showcased the best of elegant dressing, in tune with the night’s “Return to Glamour” theme.

The big night called for fashion drama, in the form of show-stopping detailing. Widi Wardhana’s ruffling game was strong in her Jason Wu number. The love for ruffles was shared by Koy Chayongin her Giambattista Valli Couture pastel gown. The one-shoulder gown was a popular choice. The sexy statement was seen on Irna Mareta and Winda Malika Siregar, who both stunned in Didit Hediprasetyo. Also showing off her bare shoulders was new mother Sara Djojohadikusumo, who wore Andreas Odang.

Lanvin and its unmatched forte in creating effortless evening gowns, saw the less-is-more look perfected by Suhaila Nordin, Jasmine Prasetio, Selly Wilson, Sarah Zafra and Niniek Purnomo. In the same minimalist spirit, Velove Vexia carried off her Didit Hediprasetyo, Shalvynne Chang her Elie Saab and newlywed Titi Rajo Bintang her Michelle Worth.

Brocade was the night’s top classic reinvention, worn in the softest of blush by Simpirwati Simarno in her Louis Vuitton dress and a sexy detailing by Leeyen Wijaya in her white Alessandra Rich. Indonesian designers shone through their intricate embroidery work. Sophia Latjuba’s Sapto Djojokartiko number was simple in cut, yet made for a breathtaking red-carpet outfit with its two-tone embroidery. Yvonne Yuen showed off the best of her Adrian Gan creation, featuring 3D embroidery work that made the dress stood out from the crowd. Lastly, no mention of embroidery is complete without Biyan in the picture. Worn by Asri Adityawardhana, the designer’s tunic dress was a powerful statement in its simplicity.
