Amid the clean eating craze, the local beauty industry still has not applied the same conscience in wellness. Beauty products are formulated using toxic chemicals, including parabens and triclosan, to achieve pigmented colours and long-lasting effect. Esqa Cosmetics aims to pioneer the change. Founded by childhood best friends Cindy Angelina and Kezia Toemion, Esqa is Indonesia’s first vegan beauty brand. The two was inspired by their college years in LA where most women were educated about safe beauty products.
Launched in June, Esqa offers lip products (Satin Lip Crayon and Matte Lip Liquid) that are formulated without parabens, triclosan, gluten, phthalates and sodium lauryl sulfate. All products are enriched with vitamin E to nourish the lips. Some of the ingredients are imported, but the products are 100% made in Indonesia. Esqa is a BPOM-certified brand.
Today, Esqa launches two new fall colours of its Matte Lip Liquid: Coral Tease and Berry Kiss (pictured on Maria Rahajeng, Esqa’s first “Girl Boss”). Both hues are manufactured with a new and improved formula, following customers’ feedback that the earlier one was a “tad sticky”. Coral Tease is a soft nude hue suitable for day look, while Berry Kiss is a deeper hue that adds an “oomph!” to a night look.
Prestige has tested the new and improved formula and we can testify that the lip liquid is light and does not dry out the lips even after a few hours of usage. After a meal, the lip colour fades a little, but what we love is that it does not smudge.
