A prominent criminal lawyer, Anandan has been involved in numerous headline-grabbing cases, including his defense, in 2012, of 10 men accused of having sex with an under-aged prostitute. In mid-2012, he resigned as head of KhattarWong's Criminal Law department to become a founding member of RHTLaw Taylor Wessing, set up by three senior former KhattarWong lawyers. Anandan, who heads the Litigation and Dispute Resolution Practice at the new firm, is known for his stinging attacks in the courtroom, and is reportedly nicknamed “the basher” within the legal community. He has handled well over 1,500 criminal cases, from murder and kidnapping to drug trafficking and white-collar crime. Beyond his legal work, Anandan has put his name to new awards being offered this year by his alma mater Naval Base Secondary School, as sponsor of the Subhas Anandan Caring Citizen Future Leader (CCFL) Awards.
